Estonia is a northern European country bordering the Baltic Sea and the Gulf of Finland. With more than 1,500 islands, its varied territory consists of rocky beaches, ancient forests and numerous lakes. This former Soviet country has a large number of castles, churches and fortresses perched on hills. Tallinn, the capital, is famous for its well-preserved old town, museums and the 314m high TV tower with its observation platform.
