Yemen (Arabic: اليَمَن / al-yaman), is an Arab country located at the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula. It has a land border with Saudi Arabia to the north and with Oman to the northeast, and a sea border with Djibouti and Eritrea to the west and Somalia to the south. It has an important maritime frontage on the Gulf of Aden, a lesser one on the Red Sea, and controls with Djibouti the Bab-el-Mandeb strait which leads to the Suez Canal. Its capital, Sana’a, is located in the west of the country, and its main port is Aden.

Yemen is one of the oldest centers of civilization in the Middle East, in ancient times the country was a territory of the Kingdom of Sheba.

Sa capitale, Sanaa, se situe dans l’ouest du pays, et son principal port est Aden.

Le Yémen est l’un des plus anciens centres de civilisation du Moyen-Orient, dans l’antiquité le pays était un territoire du Royaume de Saba.
