Teenage inventor Boyan Slat’s plans to create an Ocean Cleanup Array faced a lot of criticism when he first began publicizing the idea. That didn’t stop him. The study shows the array could clean up half the Pacific garbage patch in just 10 years. To get his project off the ground, Slat has started a crowdfunding campaign where you can help.
